Oysters Repperfella
Ingredients:
- 2 to 3 dozen raw Oysters shucked and on the half shell
- 16 oz package thick shredded Mozzerella cheese
- 3/4 cup butter or margarine
- Fresh Ground Black Pepper
- Garlic Powder
- Parsley
- Basil
- Oregano
Preheat oven to 450 degrees or light grill.
Place half shell oysters on cookie sheet. Note that you can also cook this recipe on the grill, and it adds a great flavor to dish.
Melt butter in a suacepan adding Garlic Powder and Black Pepper to taste. This butter should be strong in flavor as the cooking proccess will dilute the flavor.
Fill each shell with Garlic/Pepper butter mixture.
Cover each oyster with cheese, the more the better.
Sprinkle Parsley, Basil, and Oregano over the cheese. You should have a lot of these herbs on the surface of the cheese, with more Parsley than Basil, and more basil than Oregano. You will find the right amount after a few times.
Cook in oven until the cheese bubbles and browns on the edges.
Grill: If you are cooking these on the grill you should take all of the ingredients to the grill with you (butter already made) Place the oysters on the grill, and then add all ingredients in the order mentioned above. This will cause a lot of smoking but that adds a lot more flavor to the dish.
Serve with, what else, A COLD BEER!
